We embarked on this wonderful journey on June 26, 2020. The first year has been nothing short of an amazing experience for Novello Advisors LLP. Novello, the Child of disruption theory envisaged in the middle of the first Covid Pandemic has fared well and far beyond expectations.
For any Consulting Services Firm, the most important pillar are its people. Even before the incorporation of the firm, Retvik M Prakash consented to join the firm followed by Pratik Ballal and Betsy Mathews. It is the people behind any initiative that can make it viable, productive and strong. The team is going from strength to strength with the addition of Akshita Bharadwaj and Vinay Sulegai. Novello is totally blessed from the perspective of having strong people leading from the front in any space it caters to. We also have Lokesh Budhrani in taking care of our IT infrastructure requirements. Equally important to mention Lalit Chawla who has been a rock and an amazing buffer to any of the initiatives we have taken. He is an integral part of the journey called Novello.
From a Firms perspective, the initiatives towards the assets of the team have been to “walk the talk”. We have introduced “employment at will” where people would be able to walk out of the firm the week they put in their papers. This has resulted in building trust mechanism where we become an employer of choice. We have also introduced a 3 or four days per month paid leave for the women folks who would like to take a break during their “menstrual cycle”. In addition to taking a sizeable health care plan for “Team Novello” in their individual name, we have also ensured that the plan will be viable even if an employee is to exercise his employment at will concept. We have taken a step forward in ensuring Mental wellness for our employees by engaging an expert to help our employees cope during these tough times. We plan to have this every quarter to ensure that Team Novello is not only physically strong but Mentally strong as well. We, of course, have many more paths to cross in regard to team welfare.
At Novello, the year one has been almost exhilarating with regard to clients’ engagements. While we were confident about our service deliverables, the extent and the wide and varied client engagement have taken us by surprise. From Mining, Manufacturing, Trading to Life insurance, IT/ITes, E-com, and Fintech, we have enviable list of clients who have formed the back bone of our operations. While we have continued with a small set of compliance-based clients, we are delighted to say that we are operating on the niche area of advisory in the space of GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy and Special Economic Zone matters. It was also a matter of pride to be awarded the “New Tax firm of the year” by Achromic Point. We have also been engaged by Assocham to do Webinars on GST as well as Customs.
As part of the Professional Journey, we are also running a “JustIDT” platform on WhatsApp. The same has a wide and varied set of Industry folks where we address their queries on real time basis. A similar measure has been set up as part of our website initiated a tab “Talk to Novellites” to ensure that Industry queries are addressed without the need for a formal engagement per se.
